Compass Arena – Project Development & Launch

During my time at Compass, I was deeply involved in the build and launch of Compass Arena, a multi-use entertainment facility that brought together sports, dining, and nightlife under one roof.

Facility Highlights:

  • Two state-of-the-art soccer fields that could also convert into a concert and performance arena

  • A Café, full-service restaurant and sports bar, and an upscale whiskey bar

  • A flexible event center designed to host everything from corporate gatherings to late-night entertainment

My Role:
I worked across teams to shape the rollout of this ambitious project—partnering with operations, vendors, and community partners to ensure each component felt connected under one brand. I developed marketing campaigns and partner outreach strategies to build awareness, drive sponsorships, and establish Compass Arena as a destination for both local residents and visitors.]

Regarding the website, I partnered with the owner and hospitality director to create and launch Compass Arena’s website. I worked through multiple design versions, presenting updates and securing approvals at each stage to ensure the site reflected both the brand vision and operational needs. The final product highlighted the arena’s diverse offerings, sports, dining, entertainment, and events—while providing an intuitive experience for guests exploring bookings, menus, and upcoming events.

Impact:
From the first matches on the soccer fields to evenings in the restaurant and live events in the arena, I helped bring Compass Arena from blueprint to grand opening. This experience taught me how to manage complex launches, balance multiple stakeholders, and create a brand story that resonated across sports, hospitality, and entertainment.


Environmental Branding & Exterior Signage Design

I led the design and placement of Compass Arena’s exterior signage from concept to installation. I sourced and compared vendor quotes, saving the company over $30,000 by managing design, measurements, and mockups in-house. I collaborated with ownership to determine optimal logo placement, sizing, and city-compliant specifications, ensuring maximum visibility and brand consistency. I coordinated closely with the executive assistant, facilities manager, and signage vendors to finalize materials, measurements, and permitting, resulting in a smooth and on-time installation.


Website Creation Journey

Freeform Ideation & Content Mapping

A freeform thought-mapping session where I visually organized every idea, service, and user need. Laying everything out in this open way allowed patterns to emerge and helped me understand how the brand’s content should naturally group together before defining any structure.

Foundational Information Architecture

The first structured information hierarchy created to capture what the company needs in its startup stage, while building a scalable framework the brand can grow into. This hierarchy translates the raw ideas from the ideation wall into clear navigation paths, content groups, and user flows.

Low-Fidelity UX Wireframes

With the information hierarchy finalized, I translated the structure into low-fidelity wireframes. These grey-box layouts allowed me to experiment with spacing, booking pathways, content placement, and mobile responsiveness—all before committing to color, branding, or imagery. This phase ensured the design was functional, intuitive, and user-centered.

This process created a clear, intuitive structure for Compass Arena’s website—supporting multiple service lines, improving discoverability, and laying the foundation for a scalable digital ecosystem as the business grows.
